Abstract

The remarkable global spread of e-commerce transactions and parcel locker usage has attracted the concern of researchers, who have started researching the topic. The study aims to delve into the variables affecting Malaysian consumers' willingness to use automated parcel lockers. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) is conceptually extended in this study by integrating resistance to change as the variables. The study is grounded in quantitative data obtained in Malaysia through an online survey (n=423). Structured equation modelling was used to analyse the data. Based on the findings, behavioural intention is determined by effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and innovativeness. This study contributes to the knowledge of last-mile delivery and technology acceptance, particularly in theoretical and managerial consequences. Regarding the theoretical ramifications, this research applies UTAUT to last-mile delivery in Malaysia. The study's findings also assist the courier company and other related agencies in formulating plans and implementing actions to increase user acceptance of the parcel locker service.
