Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) concept has been evolved the organizations worldwide. The IoT would impact every aspect of life and industry – including industries and projects not directly connected to the internet. The definition of the IoT was originally proposed initially by Kevin Ashton, who was the originator of the 1999 MIT Self Identification Centre (Ashton, 2019). Later, in 2005, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) formally proposed the IoT (ITU, 2005). Nevertheless, the concept provided by the ITU in 2012 is 'a global information society infrastructure that allows advanced services to interconnect (physical and virtual) stuff based on existing and evolving interoperable information and communication technologies (ITU, 2012). The possibilities provided by the IoT are enormous, not just for the IT market. What is it going to mean for project management 's future?
