Abstract
UMP bermula dengan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kampus Cawangàn Pahang (UTM-KCP) yang beroperasi di sebuah kampus yang terletak di Bandar Indera Mahkota, Kuantan sejak tahun 1999. Penubuhan Universiti ml adalah hasil daripada cetusan idea YAB Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Abdul Razak yang pada ketika itu memegang jawatan sebagai Menteri Pendidikan Malaysia.
