Abstract
Robots are now widely used in factories area for manufacturing purposes and replacing human work in dangerous environment. The idea on this project is to solve the traditional sensor by using more advance and intelligent sensor called vision sensor. Mobile robot navigation development is the one of most complex application in roboticfield. In this project, a program will develop to control the movement of the robot based on the images acquired. The CMU cam has its own microcontroller, SX28 microcontroller to handling the data information acquired by the camera. A program will be built up using BASIC Stamp with PBASIC programming language. The PBASIC programs software will set up a serial interface connection between the robot and the SX28 microcontroller. This will instruct the camera to lock on and track on arrow sign. The stamp will command the Boe-Bot to move according to the arrow direction based on the imaging data send by the camera. The used of CMU cam is to acts as an eye ad which can return output data information such as color and the position of the object. As a conclusion, this project uses the Boe-bot integrated with CMU cam to develop an automation sensing program.
