Abstract
This paper presents the model modification or updating results of WIRA center member bar using finite element method. The loading condition affects the vibration behavior of center member bar, which can make uncomforted or harshness to the passenger. Therefore, experimental modal analysis for center member bar should be carried out to investigate resonant frequency and the mode shapes of the model. Resonant frequency and mode shapes of the structure can be obtained through computer simulation. The model parameters of the structure can be obtained by curve fitting set of impulse response functions (time domain). The time domain functions were changed to the frequency domain functions and compute by the modern Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) based analyzer for deriving operating deflection shapes (ODS). From the analysis, a mode shape result was not suitable for structure frequency. Then, the model modification of the structure was done by using FEMtoolsTM software to get the simulation resonant frequency was closer to the experiment results.
